We can always use your help in keeping the park looking nice. You are always
responsible for your own camping area, but if you can trim or mow your neighbors
area, or any other common areas around the park (along the road and lake, around
the shelters and bathrooms etc.) it would be greatly appreciated.
Park Information
Fireman's Park is a campground on Buckeye Lake, Ohio
exclusively for active and retired Columbus, Ohio Firefighters.

Guests with campers or motor homes may only camp with the
permission of a Board Member, and payment of camping fees
.
Tents are free as long as you are with a CFD member.
All guest camping is on a temporary basis, determined by the board.
Fireman's Park reserves the right to limit the number of guests and their
tents, campers, or motor homes at any time.

Now that the new roads are complete, we ask that you please keep all
vehicles (including golf carts), on the gravel whenever possible,
especially around the new shower house.
Please keep John and Kim Cox in your thoughts and prayers.  John is
still recuperating from chemotherapy and radiation treatments but had
planned on being back to work by now.  His leave balances are getting
very low so we are asking any CFD members to consider donating time
to John's sick leave bank.  You can do this by contacting the Local 67
Union Office at 614-481-8900. Thank You.
Thanks go out to everyone who came out to clean the shelter house on July 28th: Mike
& Patty Gischel, Mike Blackwell, Wayne Thompson, Charlie Campbell, Kathy & Billy
Gronbach, John Helsel & Larry Smith.  Thanks also to Mike Gischel, Mike Blackwell,
Wayne Thompson, Charlie Campbell & Steve Heughebart, for cutting up the firewood
from all of the trees that were cut down on the east side of the park.
We would like to thank the Carr Family for installing the new stairs at
the swimming area.  It's now much easier to get in, and out of the water
thanks to their efforts.
The Pajama Poker Run was a big success and a lot of fun for everyone.
Margie Thompson came in first, Kelly Cordle was second and Joanie Mentel
came in third.  The poker run ended at the newly renovated Art Lewis shelter,
where participants danced the night away (especially Pat Raver).
